Recommended Age: 9 months and up

What really keeps a child safe in a floor bed is their ability to reliably control their head, neck, and body. A child needs to be able to turn their head easily, push away from obstacles, and intentionally reposition themselves if they press against a rail or surface.

Many babies develop these skills between 7 and 9 months, which is why we recommend 9 months and up, only if your child has clearly achieved these milestones.

Because this is a floor bed with the sleeping surface at ground level, the distance of any roll-off is minimal, a significant safety advantage over raised toddler beds.

Safety Guidelines:

  • Wall distance: Place the bed less than 1.5 inches or at least 12 inches away from the wall to prevent your baby from becoming trapped.
  • Room safety: Make sure the room is child-safe by securing furniture to the wall, covering electrical outlets, and keeping cords and hazardous items out of reach before letting your child sleep independently.
  • Bedding: Follow your health care provider's requirements for safe sleeping. This may include removing pillows, duvets, or covers to avoid suffocation.
  • Supervision: Never leave your child unattended.

Our premium maple plywood is made using PureBond® formaldehyde-free adhesive technology. We are one of the few children’s furniture brands offering this type of wood. Its light tone and smooth, hand-varnished finish create a fresh, modern look. We lightly tint the edges for a clean, Scandinavian-inspired finish that complements the wood’s natural beauty.

3/4-inch Birch Plywood

Our birch plywood comes prefinished with a clear coating that highlights its natural grain. We carefully sand and hand-seal the edges to showcase the plywood’s distinctive layers. Its slightly warmer tone brings a welcoming feel to your space, while its low formaldehyde emissions meet CARB Phase 2 and TSCA Title VI standards.

White Melamine with a Plywood Core

The white components feature a durable melamine surface over a sturdy plywood core, with no particleboard. The clean white finish provides a neutral balance alongside the natural wood.

About CARB Phase 2 and TSCA Title VI

CARB Phase 2 is California’s standard limiting formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products, including hardwood plywood, particleboard, and MDF. TSCA Title VI establishes corresponding standards across the United States. These regulations include testing and certification requirements to help reduce formaldehyde emissions into indoor air.

What's the recommended age range for the Full Floor Bed?
